Permanent Closure of Griffin Road

The City of Walthourville has been notified by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) that Griffin Road will be permanently closed effective July 27, 2026.

Motorists are encouraged to begin planning alternate routes and to allow additional travel time as traffic patterns adjust following the closure. Please use caution in the area, obey all posted traffic control devices, and follow designated detour routes once they are in place.

The City of Walthourville appreciates the public's patience and cooperation during this transition. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
